To provide examples of effective 21st century teaching and learning strategies in order to assist in the development of more engaged and motivated classrooms. To provide multimedia Podcasts and articles to facilitate an understanding of how to implement technology and multimedia in classrooms regardless of content area. To encourage independent and personalized learning by teaching students to enjoy the process of learning. To assist teachers in becoming facilitators of learning.
Boot Camp for Standardized Testing?
The entire junior class of students attending Southern Lehigh High School in PA have been enrolled in a PSSA Boot Camp in order to boost their scores on the upcoming PSSAs. The motivating factor behind this idea was the significant increase in benchmarks for these tests this year. However, this Boot Camp focuses less on PSSA content, and more on how the test is structured and scored.
Will this strategy be effective in boosting the PSSA scores of those students enrolled? We’ll have to wait and see. The testing is scheduled to begin the second week of March.
